At our core, the Caring Across Generations campaign is about seeing our common humanity and creating care systems that nurture and allow all of us to make the care choices that work best for us and our families. We base our advocacy on a set of core values:

  • We believe in strong families of all kinds.
  • We believe in grace and dignity in aging and dignity and respect for caregivers.
  • We believe in an economy that works for everyone, so that we have the freedom to make the care choices that are right for us and our families.
  • We believe in making it easier to be there for our loved ones and to afford care at any age and every stage of life, while fairly compensating caregivers for their essential work.
  • We believe in the common humanity binding all of us together — families, family caregivers, professional caregivers, older adults, and our extended support networks.
  • And we do not stand for a belief in hierarchy where one life is more valuable than another based on race, class, religion, gender, age, ability, national origin, immigration status, sexual or gender identity — or anything else.

We are all in this together — everybody in, nobody out.

With these as our fundamental values, we will continue to take on the challenge of building a care system and a caring society that works for everyone, and demand that our elected officials do the same — and we are ready to resist with full force any actions that fall short of this.
